Writing Critique Sessions

New This Year!

Want feedback on your writing from other authors? Having trouble finding beta readers? Want to learn about writing craft by reviewing other authors’ work?

Join the FREE CCWE Critique Group – for CCWE members only.

This on-line group meets twice per month on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to about 8:00 (see the CCWE calendar for dates). By Sunday prior to the meeting, post your submission (3,000 words maximum) to Google Docs. You have three days to review/provide written feedback on three submissions and, in return, you will receive three reviews on your work. At Wednesday’s on-line meeting, you will give/receive additional feedback.

If you’re not a Google Docs user – NO WORRIES! Our facilitators will walk you through how to upload and download documents like a pro.

If you want to find out more? Please contact Author and CCWE Board Member, Linda Ditchkus. Contact Linda Ditchkus HERE! or call her at 720-985-8450.

NaNoWriMo Mentoring

National Novel Writing Month, is “a website, a community, a wildly ambitious writing event — and so much more!” NaNoWriMo challenges participants to write 50,000 words of a novel in November. Your work does not get shared and you get no feedback on what you’ve done, but you have a global community of participants who have taken on this challenge for personal accountability and as inspiration to knock out a huge chunk of work.

Laurel McHargue, will provide mentorship throughout the month of November for those wanting to participate whether you already have a work in progress or are playing with a seed of an idea.

Go to https://nanowrimo.org/ to set up your profile anytime throughout the year and to explore the other writing “camps” they offer. It’s all FREE!

Laurel is an award-winning multi-genre Salida author who also raises ducks for eggs and entertainment.

Salida Art Walk

After a successful inaugural Author Gallery at Salida's 2021 Art Walk, the CCWE has decided to again partner with The Book Haven to showcase our members' books in 2022.

We are expanding our author cadre from 16 to 20 authors, and each person will have two 3-hour time slots (mostly likely, not on the same day) to promote their books .

While June 24-26, 2022 seems like a long time from now, sign up soon to reserve one of these coveted spots.

Questions, contact Member-At-Large Linda Ditchkus HERE.

Workshop "2-fer"!

SPECIAL OFFERING: The CC Writers Exchange is getting creative (again) and offering an opportunity for you to invite in a family member, a friend, a writing buddy to join you for this workshop.

We are calling it a "2-fer" as in two people for one paid admission session.

With your paid fee for the workshop, you can invite in another person!

We know how isolating ZOOM sessions can be and the limitations the Covid virus has created for all of us. If you have a second person to add to the session, you are welcome to do so with your paid admission.

Regardless of membership status the "2-fer" applies. Send us the name of the person who will be joining you!

We hope to see you at the Scott Thomas workshop on October 23rd and your second person too!
